S'mores Brownies!

Last week, I was hankering for something chocolate-filled and feeling creative, so I raided my pantry in an attempt to bake from scratch. Using the Hershey's Best Brownie recipe, (substituting brown sugar for white sugar when I ran of white), I made s'mores brownies!

Here's the recipe (adapted from Hershey's Best Brownie recipe):

S'mores Brownies

Stuff to Buy or Have on Hand
1 cup (2 sticks butter)
2 cups sugar
2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
4 eggs
3/4 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa
1 cup flour (ideally all-purpose)
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

Stuff to Do
Heat your oven to 350°F. Grease 13x9" baking pan. Melt the butter and add to a large mixing bowl. Stir in sugar and vanilla. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well with a spoon after each addition. Add the cocoa, and beat the resulting mess until everything is well blended. Next add flour, baking powder, and salt, and mix it up as best you can without batter flying everyone and soaking your apron with chocolatey goodness. Pour batter into that pan you greased earlier. Bake the batter for 30 to 35 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from the sides of the pan. Cool them somewhat (still in the pan) on a wire rack.

Sprinkle chunks of Hershey's milk chocolate over the top of the brownies. Since I'm from Pennsylvania, I'm partial to Hershey's, but really any chocolate would work. Use your oven's burners to lightly toast some jumbo marshmallows, then mash them over the top in whatever way you see fit. While each marshmallow is still warm and sticky, stud it with graham crackers and more chocolate. The resulting dessert is not pretty, tidy, or easy to eat, but it's definitely tasty. Once you've cut these, make sure to seal them in an airtight container so the graham crackers don't get stale!
